More on Social Impact Bond: take a London example: E 5mm was raised through the bond to be shared between St Mungo’s and another org. The cash will fund a 3-yr program that is strictly measured and, as targets are met, payments will flow to investors from the Greater London Authority (~6.5% yield). Win-win-win. For early and successful adapting insurance carriers, it could mean higher retention with a better suite of clients. The stagnating federal R&D spending: National Institute of Health’s budget will be -7.6% next 5 years, NASA’s budget at lowest level since 1988, and so on.The government’s beneficial impact is not always cut-and-dried, but less money into the field is concerning. The Netherlands is not immune: jobless rate in January hit 7.5%, northern provinces were particularly hard hit; house prices have also continued to decline, dropping nearly 10% in January compared with the previous year.
